On the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam, Mr. Frank Rose – A/S Designate for the Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance of the United States called on Vietnam National Satellite Center (VNSC), Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology on March 7, 2014. Attending the meeting includes: Board of Director of VNSC, representatives from Department of International Cooperation of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Department of American Affairs of Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United States delegation.
During the reception, Mr. Frank A. Rose expressed his hope that Vietnam and America will soon discuss and sign the “Framework Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Socialist of Republic of Vietnam on the Cooperation in the peaceful uses of the outer space” and to receive the support of Vietnam on the International Code of Conduct for Outer Space Activities.
For his part, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Tuan confirmed support for the International Code of Conduct for Outer Space Activities. He also expressed his hope that America will support stronger cooperation between the two countries in Space Technology. In conclusion, Dr. Tuan noted he hope Vietnam and America will soon have specific cooperation in Space Technology through implementing Program such as SERVIR Mekong, USGS, GLOBE…
