Satellite Manufacturing Testing and Operation Centre

Satellite Manufacturing Testing and Operation Centre was established by incorporating Department of Satellite Assembly Integration and Testing and Department of Satellite Operation and Control.

Functions and Tasks

Functions:

Satellite Manufacturing Testing and Operation Centre is responsible for fabrication and testing of satellites as well as ground-based supporting equipment and other space systems in the course of time; satellite management, operations and utilization; in-depth researches on satellite operations.

Tasks:

  1. Managing and utilizing the infrastructure for satellite manufacturing, testing and ground segment for satellite operation systems.
  2. Proposing processes and procedures for manufacturing and testing of satellites and other space systems; involving in processes and procedures for assembly, integration of satellites and other space systems.
  3. Utilizing satellite operations effectively through ground segment for satellite operation systems, including:
  • 3.1. Planing processes and solutions for management, operation and utilization of satellite system(s).
  • 3.2. Utilizing ground segment for satellite operation systems including ground stations and satellite operation Centers for: telemetry and satellite data receiving, storage, processing and analysis; satellite operation plan according to requests from end users; satellite control and command.
  • 3.3. Equipment maintenance and repair for ground segment for satellite operation systems.
  1. Conducting scientific and technological researches in the field of high technology fabrication, in satellite and other space systems testing, in ground segment and related domains; developing high technology products, specialized testing equipment, ground-segment equipments and related products.
  2. Developing and applying standards for satellite and space system testing processes that align with domestic and international standards; cooperating in disseminating and implementing the developed standards to relevant organizations.
  3. Providing scientific and technological services in high technology fabrication, satellite and space system assembly integration and testing and other related domains; services related to operation and utilization of ground segment for satellite operation systems, services related to ground station for satellites.
  4. Training the workforce, to cooperate and exchange in science and technology of high technology fabrication, satellite and space system assembly, integration, testing and operation; technology transfer, applying and utilizing research results into related fields.
  5. Executing periodic and ad hoc reports following VNSC’s formats and regulations and complying with Vietnamese laws.
  6. Performing missions and duties appointed by Directorate of VNSC.
